Research

Here is a game which requires the user to get the correct answer in order to pass through the pyramid and set the player free.
It's simple and helps the children interact whilst learning.
This works because it shows the child how things should be completed before moving forward and it also enables them to learn the answer or work it out if they have to.
The transitions between the different levels is good. I like the way the same transition happens each time and it is all kept in time. There is also only one character in this game. She looks like she is from the egyptian era and also fits in really well with the mood of the game.

Here is a game from the same website but this time it focuses on the alphabet. The game requires the user to click on the correct logs however they have to be in alphabetical order. If correct the girl jumps from log to log however if it is incorrect the girl gets thrown of the logs and you can try again.
The character is similar to the game above, this shows they have consistency rather than changing it dramatically every time. This game works well as it teaches the child how to use the alphabet in such a way and be able to put them in order. I don't like the way the writing is presented on some of the colours of the logs as it is hard to read sometimes.

Although children like to play and interact with games they also spend a lot of time on youtube and therefore i have decided to look through videos on youtube to see what they have available for children to look through.

Below is a video from youtube which teaches children how to pronounce the letters of the alphabet.

I like this as it is catchy and also very bright. This alone catches the users attention. However i feel the transitions can be some what jumpy.
There are no characters in this as it is solemnly showing the user the alphabet.

Here is another video which shows children the letters of the alphabet however it also goes on to say what words start with certain letters, its full of music and catchy which helps the children to learn.
I like this as it is catchy and also very bright. However i feel the transitions can be some what jumpy or not fit in quite as well as they could.
There are no characters in this as it is solemnly showing the user the alphabet.

Lastly below is a video teaching children how to say numbers. Each of the videos go on for at least forty minutes.
I think this video works well as the numbers are little characters, this is great! It keeps the attention of the children as well as teaches them how to say their numbers. It is also filled with bright colours and sounds which make it catchy and help with the children's learning.
